How to get AAF to work in Fallout 4? ›

Dogmeat was designed as a companion first and a combat ally second, which is why Bethesda chose a more personable dog than a professionally-trained one.

Codsworth is more useful in combat, and you actually have someone to talk to. Doesn't take away from the fact that Dogmeat is still the best boy. Dogmeat, though both are good.

Powering Up The Radio Transmitter

To do that, use the nearby workbench to build and place two medium generators next to the Radio Transmitter. Then while still in the build mode, attach a wire between the generators and another one to the Radio Transmitter. Finally, activate them all to get everything running.

Use the terminal and load the Institute Relay Targeting Sequence holotape. Preston Garvey, Sturges and other Minutemen will be teleported in. Talk to Preston and he'll give you a Fusion Pulse Charge, that can be activated remotely, which needs to be placed on the Institute's reactor.
